Almost two months old

Time sure goes by fast when you have little ones. I can’t believe that Michael will be two months old on the 6th of April. He is growing fast and is now in the stage where he will smile at you because he recognizes you and not just due to a reflex. He actually focuses on your face for a little while and then if he recognizes you he will smile and coo at you as his way of communicating. It is such a sweet time because there is nothing that can warm your heart more and put a smile on your face than a baby smiling at you. Andrew loves to sing to Michael and show him how all the baby toys work. Another one of his favorite things is to put his face close to Michael’s mouth so he can get kisses back. It is so cute to see them interact. The same with Jasmine, she loves talking to him and getting him to lift his head while he is doing his tummy exercises. Jeremy and I enjoy bathing Michael and letting him sleep on our chest. I can never get enough time cuddling with my baby!

Michael’s last well check-up was at 6 weeks and he weighed 10 pounds, 4 ounces and was 22 inches tall. He is sure getting chubby and I believe that by the time he hits two months he will probably weigh 12 pounds. I see a lot of Andrew in Michael but a very large number of our friends say that he looks just like Jasmine. I think that there is definitely a strong sibling resemblance. He sure belongs in our family and we love him to pieces!!!

International Mathematical Competition

I feel very blessed because I have an incredible 3rd grader. My beautiful girl is an amazing student at school, always ready to learn more and to challenge herself to do better. During spring break Jasmine took part in the International Mathematical Kangaroo competition. This competition is held annually and has more than 40 countries that take an active part in it. Students from grade 2 to grade 12 are allowed to participate. This was Jasmine’s second time to compete and she was very excited. The scores are not back yet but she was happy with her performance after the competition. I love her sweet spirit and love of learning. Jasmine is one of my great helpers in the house and a little mommy to Andrew and Michael. We all are very proud of Jasmine and we love her a tone!

February is a month full on special birthdays. Andrew starts the month, Michael follows and Jeremy closes it. In other words all my favorite boys get to celebrate their special birthday in one month.

We celebrated Jeremy’s birthday at home with our little family and Jeremy’s parents. They were here to support Jeremy in his new calling as a second counselor in the bishopric and also to see our sweet new baby. Michael is their 30th grandchild.

I decided that making two cakes in one month was enough and opted to buy an ice-cream cake for my sweetie this year. It was delicious and I think for the adults in the family we will start buying ice-cream cakes from now on.

Now, I have to brag a little about my husband. First of all he is the best husband in the world. My love for him is immense and it still seems to grow every day as he tends to all of us. I thought it was so wonderful that Jeremy immediately brought me flowers after I delivered Michael and not only that, he made sure to buy a box of chocolates for the nurses so they would take good care of me in the hospital while he was home with the children. He is a wonderful daddy always trying to find time to play games and teach our little ones the gospel. I love Jeremy with all my heart and I am so grateful that Heavenly Father paired us together.

Heavenly Sweetness!

What better way to start a new blog than with lots of pictures of our precious new baby Michael. I took these pictures at our house when Michael was three weeks old. He is five weeks old now and you should see what a difference two weeks make in the way this little boy is growing. Actually, our doctor was impressed with Michael’s ability to gain weight as he jumped from six pounds to a little over eight pounds in just three weeks. Michael is such a good baby. He loves to be held by all of us and never seems to fuss at the millions of kisses we give him daily.
