State chess tournament

Jasmine started playing chess last fall and has loved it ever since. She is always ready for a game of chess. She is actually teaching Andrew how to win in order for him to start competing this fall. All the practice and tournaments have helped Jasmine improve her overall ranking. I lost track of how many tournaments she has participated in but I do know that she has enjoyed each one. The state tournament was a fun way to really see how good Jasmine was compared to other third graders. Out of 108 third graders competing from all around the state she placed 34th. That is unbelievable considering she just started last fall. We are so proud of her! We love you Jazzy! Here are some pics from different tournaments and of course the state chess competition.

Best job ever!

I have the best job in the world! Raising three beautiful children is hard work but I would not trade it for anything in the world. When I wake up to feed Michael at 5 in the morning and I am greeted with the largest smile in the world I know he loves me just as much as I love him. Not only that it never matters if I am showered or if my hair is done in his eyes I am still the best. I love being here every day for my children to hear their laughter, cries, complaints and accomplishments, to teach them and guide them through these fleeting years . When I look back in ten years I do not want to regret that I was not there, or I did not play enough. I want to smile and remember every moment  from their sweet childhood.

Here are the stats from Michael's 2 month well checkup appointment

Height: 24 inches

Weight: 12 pounds 2oz  ( he has doubled his birth weight)

Movie night

Last week Jeremy and I decided to take our little ones on a mother daughter date and father son date . Friday night I took Jasmine to the movies and we watched “How To Train Your Dragon” in 3d which we both loved. It was so much fun to spend some time with her and I know that the boys had a blast at home playing playstation and baking chocolate chip cookies. The next day, Saturday was Jeremy and Andrew's time to have some fun and they also choose to go to the movies and see the same movie. While the boys were gone Jasmine and I played some board games and had strawberry banana smoothies at our home. It was such a great weekend and I look forward to some shopping and pampering time with my girl soon.

Enjoying baby bath time

Bathing Michael is such a wonderful experience. Michael loves his bath and every day around 8pm he is ready for it. If we skip his bath he is fussy and starts crying until he gets to splash in his tub. So,we have made it a routine to bath him every night. I talk to him all the time during his bath about what's happening and he coos as he enjoys the sounds of my voice and of course the nice warm water. Bathing, nursing, cuddling, rocking etc...are some of my favorite things to do as a mother. Now if someone can just get me a maid for my house that would be great.

Big brother Andrew

Andrew and Michael

Every day when Andrew wakes up he has to check on Michael to make sure he is doing well and also to see how much bigger he has grown since the previous night. It's delightful to see how much love he has for his baby brother as he showers Michael with kisses every day. I love to listen and watch Andrew sing to Michael all the church songs he has learned. Michael also enjoys it very much and coos back at him in reply. I really need to record his sweet voice before it changes. I also love to hear Andrew talking to Michael. His conversations go like this: Andrew showing Michael a sword says, “Michael, I am going to keep you protected with this, cause you know I am in charge of you if there are any bullies.”

Andrew also likes to introduce himself when he enters the room by saying; “Make space big brother is coming!”

I know that Andrew loves being a big brother and I can already imagine the many sword fights and superhero games being played at our home when Michael is older.

The boys and I have enjoyed some great mornings at the park since the weather has been beautiful these past several weeks. Here are some pics with the best big brother. Enjoy!

Happy Easter! / Paste Fericit!

Our Easter was beautiful, complete with excellent weather and tons of chocolate. Some of the things we enjoyed together as a family were going on a Easter egg hunt, painting eggs, eating a delicious Easter meal with all the fixings and General Conference. I am grateful to celebrate Easter every year and remember that Jesus was resurrected.
